Since 1995

Thirty years of serving Hot Springs.

The story

From DeQueen to Hot Springs

Elmer Hamel opened the first Hamel Plywood in DeQueen in 1995 with a simple pitch: buy plywood straight from the mill, skip the middlemen, and pass the savings to whoever's doing the building. Contractors drove from three counties over. Cabinet shops became weekly regulars.

The Hot Springs yard carried that reputation to the lakes. And the lakes changed what people needed from us — dock builders on Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine don't just need panels, they need framing and decking that can live in the water.

So Hamel Plywood became Hamel Supply — same family standards, broader mission. Today we're the only Owens Corning® Lumber dealer in Arkansas, with the state's best stock of Marine Grade Decking® alongside the mill-run plywood we built our name on.

The rule hasn't moved an inch since DeQueen.

Brad Eye runs the yard. Bring him dock plans, a cabinet cut list, or a photo of the thing you're trying to fix — he'll take off the materials list, price it right, and have it pulled.
